The challenge
Humanity is facing unprecedented challenges - social, economical, and environmental challenges driven by accelerating globalization and faster technological developments. At the same time, those forces provide us with new opportunities for human advancement.
To navigate through such uncertainty, students will need to develop curiosity, imagination, resilience, and self-regulation; they will need to respect and appreciate the ideas, perspectives, and values; they will need to cope with failure and rejection and move forward in the face of adversity. Their motivation will be more than getting a good job and a high income; they will also need to care about the well-being of their friends and families, their communities, and the planet.
The model
An international online competition spanning 12 weeks consisting of assignments and live joint online sessions. A major challenge is chosen derived from the SDG of the United Nations. The tasks are performed by the groups independently. Each task submission is reviewed by the olympic's staff and gets feedback.
The groups participate in live online meetings shared by the participating countries. In these meetings, the groups have the opportunity to introduce themselves, collaborate, and learn from experts from different countries. Participants will receive an official participation certificate in the prize ceremony for the winning team.
